La Tarara

latarara

La Tarara began exploring flamenco in 2001 by taking classes at Anda Flamenco in Minneapolis. Immediately addicted, she quickly advanced from a beginner to an intermediate student. She also attended various workshops with visiting artists like Manolete, Edo Sie and Clarita Filiguiras. She began performing at local venues with various groups in 2003. In 2004 she and three wonderful friends formed Sendero Flamenco and began performing at venues, parties and events around the Twin Cities and beyond. Intrigued by the athletic, graceful and unique style of Osaka born flamenco dancer/choreographer Sachiko, La Tarara began taking private instruction from her. This led to being cast in Sachiko’s 2007 production of Hiroshima: A Night Dreamt and a Day Flashed to Burn and Deborah Elias’ Tia. She is currently working on Flamencos Americanos, which is a theatrical production by Duo Sendero set to hit the stage October 9th, 2010.
